Green Beans and Shallots

This green been recipe is super easy and super delicious. The sautéed shallot blends nicely with the green beans while the nettle leaf adds a refreshing herbal flavor.

 1 10 oz bag of whole green beens
 ¼ cup filtered water
 2 tbsp finely chopped shallots
 1 tbsp ume plum vinegar
 1 tbsp olive oil
 1 tsp nettle leaf
 ½ tsp sea salt


In a saucepan on medium heat place 1 tablespoon of olive oil in the pan. After the oil is heated place the shallots in the pan and sauté till they are soft.


Add the nettle leaf and sea salt to the shallots sauté a little more. Then add the filtered water and Ume plum vinegar into the pan.


Place the sting beans into the pan and simmer till cooked through. This should take about 8 minutes. Do not over cook the green beans. There should still be some crispness to the green beans.


These green beans make a great addition to any meal. Any leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days.
